This is the submission of petitions for voluntary annexation in the area of Williston Road and SW 20th Terrace.
Explanation
Valentin Zahariev, property owner, has submitted a petition to the City of Gainesville for voluntary annexation of Tax Parcel 07176-020-000. The property is located south of Williston Road, west of SW 20th Terrace, north of Tax Parcels 07177-002-000 and 07177-002-001, and east of the City limits. Staff has determined that the petition bears the signature of the property owner or authorized agents. The property is currently vacant.
The second parcel is owned by the City of Gainesville and is surrounded on all sides by Tax Parcel 07176-020-000 (the Zahariev property). A GRU lift station is currently located on the property. In order to annex this parcel into the City limits, the owner must submit a petition to the City of Gainesville for voluntary annexation. As the owner, the Mayor, on behalf of the City, must execute a petition for voluntary annexation.
Staff has reviewed the requirements of the Boundary Adjustment Act (BAA) and found that these areas meet the requirements of the Act and are appropriate for annexation. The parcels are approximately 95.84 acres in size.

Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) receive the petition for annexation and make findings that it contains the signature of the property owner or authorized agents; 2) authorize the Mayor, as agent for the City, to sign the petition for voluntary annexation; 3) direct the City Manager to analyze the area; and 4) authorize the City Attorney to prepare and the Clerk of the Commission to advertise ordinances relating to the annexation of the area, if appropriate.
