General Government FY2013-14 Preliminary Budget Discussions (B)
The City Commission discuss the assumptions provided in the five-year financial forecast and provide direction to staff for the development of the FY2013-14 biennial budget.
Explanation
Budget and Finance staff presented the Five Year Financial Forecast for FY2013-2017 at the end of January 2012. Included in the presentation were sets of assumptions used to derive calculated revenue and expenditure projections. Over the coming months, the City Manager and his staff will employ traditional tools and strategic measures to present a balanced budget to the City Commission in late June 2012. As we begin the development process, staff would like to discuss any further clarifications or exceptions to the assumptions as presented in the Five-Year Financial Forecast.

Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) receive a presentation from staff; and 2) provide any exceptions or specific guidance related to the assumptions used in the five-year forecast for the development of the FY2013-14 biennial proposed budget.
