Amendment to Agreement for Management & Staff Training (NB)
Authorize an amendment to the Agreement with Organizational Excellence International, P.C. for management and employee development consulting and training services.
Explanation
Organizational Development has determined that on-site training for GRU's manager's staff and employees is a more effective means of providing this service than through outsourced training. Staff believes that consultants such as Organizational Excellence International, P.C. can augment internal resources by providing consulting, coaching and team building services.
An Agreement for Professional Consulting Services was established with Organizational Excellence International, P.C. on October 1, 2005 to provide management and employee development consulting services for various GRU departments in an amount not to exceed $25,000 based on their firm's experience in fostering the managerial attributes required for successful organizational change and in working with utilities and municipalities. The use of this firm has improved GRU's has improved its managerial and supervisory training, resulting in high functioning work groups. To continue this valuable training, staff requests authority to amend the agreement by increasing the not-to-exceed amount to $95,000 through FY 2006.
Recommendations
The City Commission authorize the General Manager, or his designee, to execute an amendment to the Agreement with Organizational Excellence International, P.C. for management and employee development consulting and training services subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form and legality, in an amount not to exceed $70,000 for FY06 (New Not-to-Exceed Amount $95,000).
Fiscal Note
Funds for these services are available in the Organizational Development department's FY 2006 budget.
