Explanation
The contract dated November 27, 2000, First Amendment dated March 7, 2001, First Extension dated July 9, 2001, Second Extension dated July 1, 2002, Third Extension dated August 19, 2003, and Fourth Extension dated August 26, 2004, with Brown & Cullen, Inc.; and the contract dated November 27, 2000, First Amendment dated March 7, 2001, First Extension dated July 9, 2001, Second Extension dated July 23, 2002, Third Extension dated August 28, 2003, and Fourth Extension dated August 26, 2004, with Causseaux & Ellington, Inc., for professional civil engineering services will expire on September 30, 2005. These firms have responded to the City's requests for services promptly, and their services have been reliable and accurate. The Public Works Department recommends extending these contracts for FY 2005-2006.
The Contracts for FY 2000-2001 allowed for five extensions. This is the fifth and final request for an extension of each contract, which would cover from October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006.
Fiscal Note
Funding sources will be identified as needed from the City capital project budgets.
Recommendation
The City Commission authorize the Interim City Manager or designee to execute the Fifth Extensions to the contracts with Brown & Cullen, Inc. and Caussseaux & Ellington, Inc. for Professional Civil Engineering Services, extending the term of the contracts from October 1, 2005 to September 30, 2006, subject to final appropriation of funds for FY 2006.
