Explanation
The City Commission approved and adopted the Assessment of Fair Housing as presented by the Florida Housing Coalition at the December 7, 2017, City Commission meeting. At that meeting, the City Commission motioned for a coordinated summit with participating agencies, including the elected officials, for further discussions on how to implement. The City of Gainesville Housing Forum is scheduled on Monday, July 16, 2018. The purpose of the Housing Forum is to give the public and private sectors an opportunity to discuss strategies to create, preserve and promote affordable housing in Gainesville.
Fiscal Note
The Housing Forum is being funded through the Florida Housing Coalition’s Catalyst Program and the refreshments are funded from the City’s SHIP Program.
Recommendation
The City Commission participate in the Housing Forum.
