Report of the Safe Space Task Force (NB)

Explanation

The Community Development Committee discussed this issue on July 1, 2002, August 6, 2002, and September 30, 2002.  The Committee reported back to the City Commission on August 12, 2002 for redirection.  The City Commission held a workshop on September 30, 2002.  On October 14, 2002, citizens who had worked on this issue reported to the City Commission that they did not plan to proceed with any additional working group meetings about a Safe Space at this time.  Homeless shelter operators have worked with the City Manager to arrive at a temperature cutoff for approved cold-night emergency shelter.  The Committee has requested this item be removed from the referral list.
