Explanation

The Traffic Engineering Division uses aerial bucket trucks in the repair and maintenance of traffic signals.  Vehicle G1249, is a 14-year old bucket truck that is scheduled for replacement this fiscal year.  Bids were received from four (4) aerial device manufacturers with the recommended vendor being the lowest responsive bidder.

Fiscal Note

Funds are available in the Fleet Replacement fund for FY99-00.

Recommendation

The City Commission approve the purchase of a 40 foot aerial device from MTI Insulated, Inc. at a cost not to exceed $46,391.00 and authorize the City Manager or his designee to execute the purchase agreement subject to approval by the City Attorney as to form and legality.
