Title
Southwest 20th Avenue Corridor Study (B)
This item is to allow the Florida Department of Transportation to present to the City Commission an update on the SW 20 Avenue Corridor study that is currently underway.
Explanation
The SW 20 Avenue Corridor Study from SW 43rd Street to SW 34th Street is being conducted by the Florida Department of Transportation as a project under the Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization's (MTPO) priorities. The study is building upon the "Urban Village: Southwest 20th Avenue Transportation Design Proposal," prepared by The University of Florida School of Architecture. A Multimodal Corridor Report will be produced that defines a recommended typical section that incorporates turn lanes, missing sidewalks, raised medians, bus bays, median openings, and transit super stops (smart bus bays).
Fiscal Note
There is no fiscal impact to the City of Gainesville at this time.
Recommendation
The City Commission hear a presentation on the SW 20 Avenue Corridor Study and discuss.
