Explanation

The SW 5th Avenue Stormwater Basin is being constructed to provide stormwater management for a portion of the Tumblin' Creek drainage basin.  This facility is to provide required stormwater management and treatment for the new parking garage being constructed for the new County Court House, the West University Avenue Lofts Project, and other projects being planned for the downtown.  This purchase is for nine of the fifteen properties needed for this project.

Fiscal Note

Funds are available through the Tumblin Creek Account for the $250,000 purchase.

Recommendation

The City Commission: authorize the City Manager to execute a Purchase Agreement and all related documents with the seller for the purchase of Tax Parcels 13395, 13399, 13405, 13405-001, 13406, 13407, 13411, 13413 and 13427, consisting of approximately 2.31 total acres, for the SW 5th Avenue Stormwater Basin.
