Explanation

At the August 27, 2014 Economic Development/University City Committee meeting, the Economic Development and Innovation Director was asked to reach out to the local Builders Assocation and other community groups to partner with the City for training opportunities specific to the building industry; and to identify the potential funding and fiscal impact.

Staff has identified funding that may be utilized for such a program provided the program complies with applicable Federal regulations.

Recommendation

The Economic Development/University City Committee discuss Workforce Development programs and provide direction.
