Title
Subordination of City Utility Interest to FDOT at the SW corner of NW 13th Street and SR 26 (B)
Explanation
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is planning the installation of new mast arm signals at approximately nine intersections along Northwest and Southwest 13th Street, including the intersection of SR 26 and NW 13th Street.
In January 1991, the City acquired an easement from the State of Florida for the installation, operation and maintenance of a water line along SR 26 and NW 13th Street. FDOT has requested the City subordinate their interests in a portion of this easement to accommodate their installation of a new mast arm signal at this intersection.
Staff has reviewed this request and has no objection to the subordination of the City's utility interest at this intersection, as the proposed installation will not interfere with any existing City utility facilities.
Recommendations
The City Commission: 1) approve the Subordination of City Utility Interests at the SW corner of NW 13th Street and SR 26 to the Florida Department of Transportation; and 2) authorize the Mayor and Clerk of the Commission to execute the Subordination of City Utility Interests, subject to approval by the City Attorney.
