Title
License Agreement for Parking with A Special Occasion of Gainesville (Savannah Grande) (B)
Explanation
Since August 1999, the City of Gainesville has had an exclusive license agreement with A Special Occasion of Gainesville (Savannah Grande) to allow customer parking at a City-owned lot located adjacent to their business, until the City needed the lot. The lot was originally purchased to replace employee parking when Lot 7 is transferred to Gainesville Commerce Center Limited Partnership for the residential phase of the Commerce Project. Because Lot 7 will be transferred to the developer shortly, it is no longer feasible to extend the exclusive license agreement. A Special Occasion of Gainesville (Savannah Grande) wishes to continue to use the lot just north of their property during certain peak times for their customers. The proposed agreement would allow Savannah Grande to use that lot 24 hours per day, seven days per week, commencing on January 1, 2002, except for the hours of 7:00 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. on all Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, when the lot will be available exclusively to City employees. The agreement also gives Savannah Grande a right of first refusal should the City ever decide to sell the lot.
Fiscal Note
The City will receive monthly rent of $250.00.
Recommendation
The City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute a three year License Agreement with A Special Occasion of Gainesville (Savannah Grande).
