This item proposes to request the City Commission to approve the transfer of the remaining balance of the Displaced Mobile Home Owner/Tenant Assistance Program Funds to Housing & Community Development Affordable Housing Program budget to fund program costs related to the implementation of the City's affordable housing programs and services.
Explanation
On April 1, 2010, Legislative File #090874, the City Commission approved the reauthorization use of Cedar Grove II Foreclosure Funds for City housing programs and services to fund various programs and services to offset programs costs that are not eligible to be paid from federal and state grant programs such as Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) and State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP). On December 10, 2007, the City Commission approved Resolution #070330 establishing the Displaced Mobile Home Owner/Tenant Assistance Program. Additionally, the City Commission authorized the use of $30,000 of Cedar Grove II Foreclosure funds to fund the program. In September 2009, the Displaced Mobile Home Owner/Tenant Program was completed with a remaining balance of 13,703.85. Since the funding for this program was originally authorized from the Cedar Grove II Foreclosure Fund, staff is recommending to transfer the remaining balance of these funds to the Housing & Community Development Affordable Housing Program budget to fund program costs related to the implementation of the City's housing programs and services such as, housing rehabilitation, new construction, housing counseling, etc.
