Recognition of Local Student Water Conservation Poster Contest Winners (B)
Explanation
The 2012 American Water Works Association (AWWA) Drop Savers Contest was sponsored by GRU to teach local youth about the importance of conserving our most precious resource - water. We were amazed by the creativity displayed by the participating students and had a difficult time choosing the winners. We selected 13 posters that have been made into a calendar and will be distributed to all the classes that participated. From those, we chose four posters to enter into the state-wide AWWA competition. GRU provided pizza parties to the winning classes. Staff will present certificates to the winners at the Commission meeting.
Recommendation
The City Commission recognize local student winners from the Drop Savers Water Conservation Poster Contest.
