Overtime Reimbursement For ICAC Through FBI CCTF (B)
Explanation
The Gainesville Police Department, Criminal Investigations Division, ICAC Unit, currently has three detectives assigned to the FBI's CyberCrime Task Force. The FBI currently offers cost reimbursement for state and local law enforcement agencies for the cost of overtime incurred by officers assigned full-time to the FBI managed task forces provided the overtime expenses were incurred as a result of task force related activities.
Currently, the North Florida ICAC Task Force and the Gainesville Police Department covers the cost of overtime for investigations both state and federal. Through this agreement, any overtime spent on specific federal investigations will be reimbursed by the FBI.
Fiscal Note
For Fiscal year 2011, the maximum limits for reimbursements under the Cost Reimbursement Agreement (CRA) are $1,433.52 per month and $17,202.25 per year for each officer assigned full-time to the task force. These limits are effective for overtime worked on or after October 1, 2011.
Recommendation
The City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute the Cost Reimbursement Agreement, subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form and legality.
