The City Commission authorize the City Attorney to represent the City of Gainesville in the case styled Agnes Burke v. City of Gainesville; Eighth Judicial Circuit, Case No. 2012-CA-2195.
 
explanation
On July 9, 2012, the City was served with a Summons and Complaint filed by Agnes Burke in the Circuit Court.  Agnes Burke alleges that on September 18, 2010 she tripped and fell on a tarp at the Martin Luther King, Jr., Multi-Purpose Center. Agnes Burke claims to have suffered bodily injury, and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish and pain, and aggravation of a previously existing condition and has incurred substantial medical expenses for treatment and care, past, present and future.  Ms. Burke seeks money damages in excess of $15,000.00.
