Quasi-Judicial Boards Terms and Composition (B)
Explanation
On July 17, 2012 the City Commission referred the issue of quasi-judicial board terms and composition to the Community Development Committee. This item was discussed at the January 14, 2013 CDC Meeting. The Committee received an update on this issue and voted to recommend that term limits for the Board of Adjustments, City Plan Board, Development Review Board and Historic Preservation Board be eliminated. In a secondary motion, the Committee directed staff to present at the appropriate time, the Little John Engineering Associates final report to the Committee as a stakeholder, and to request removal of this item from the CDC referral list.
Recommendation
Community Development Committee to the City Commission: 1) eliminate term limits for the Board of Adjustments, City Plan Board, Development Review Board and Historic Preservation Board; 2) direct staff to forward the Little John Engineering Associates final report to the Community Development Committee when it becomes available; and 3) remove this item from the Community Development Committee referral list.
