Engineering Design and Construction Manual (B)
This is a request for the City Commission to adopt a new Engineering Design and Construction Manual for the City of Gainesville.
Explanation
Article I, Section 30-14 of the City of Gainesville Code of Ordinances calls for a design manual to be adopted by resolution of the City Commission and kept on file in the Public Works Department. The current design manual, The Design Manual for Subdivisions and Site Plans, was originally adopted May 27, 1992 and last revised May 26, 1998.
In order to reflect current best practices in site planning, road construction, and subdivision development, staff initiated creation of a new design manual, known as the City of Gainesville Engineering Design and Construction Manual.
Stakeholders meetings were held in September and December 2012 with input provided by Gainesville Regional Utilities staff, other utilities, water management districts, the Gainesville Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization, and private planning and engineering firms.
