This is an update for the City Commission to discuss the Charter provision 5.06 prohibiting paving in the Hogtown Creek Watershed.
Explanation
On July 29, 2013 the City Commission held a special meeting to review and discuss the City's Charter and evaluate possible changes. The City Commission requested the staff prepare an agenda item to discuss Charter Provision 5.06, which is the prohibition of paving in the Hogtown Creek Watershed area. The City Commission requested the history of the provision, as well as any information on how the provision was created. Lastly, the City Commission wanted to know whether there were positive or negative consequences to the provision, and whether there were any missed funding/grant opportunities associated with the provision over the years. Fiscal Note
There is no fiscal impact.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) receive a presentation from staff; and 2) provide any further direction as appropriate.
