Biennially, the City Commission holds a strategic planning retreat to develop its two-year Strategic Plan. This year they will hold a separate session focused solely on planning for GRU.
Explanation
A strategic plan spells out where an organization is going over the next year or more and how it's going to get there. It is a management tool that helps translate the utility's mission and vales into measurable actions that help an organization do a better job because a plan focuses the energy, resources and time of everyone in the organization in the same direction.
The purpose of this planning session is to participate in the development of GRU's strategic plan through affirming the mission of the utility, developing a shared vision, and establishing focused strategic priorities.
