City Auditor Executive Search Plan (B)
Explanation
Brent Godshalk, City Auditor, elected to participate in the City's Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP) effective April 3, 2010 and must retire from his position no later than April 2, 2015. In order to hire a new City Auditor prior to Mr. Godshalk's retirement, it is necessary to initiate a search to find suitable candidates to fill this position.
Fiscal Note
The anticipated fiscal impact of the proposed recommendation is $30,000. This amount includes $24,000 in search fees and $6,000 allocated for candidate travel and other expenses. This will be funded through unallocated general fund balance.
Recommendation
The City Commission (1) approve the Executive Search Plan for the City Auditor position developed by the Human Resources Department, and (2) authorize the Human Resources Department to engage the services of an Executive Search Firm currently on retainer with the City to initiate the search.
