Explanation
During consideration of the recent FY 2016 City budget, the Commission preliminarily endorsed funding the Florida Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research in the amount of $50,000 for an additional fiscal year.
Staff has been working with the Institute over the course of FY 2015 in a similar grant agreement context (approved by the City Commission for $50,000) and has asked the Institute CEO Mr. Jamie Grooms to address the Committee on status and plans moving forward.

Recommendation
The Economic Development/University Community Committee members receive a presentation and direct staff as appropriate.
