Explanation
On July 17, 2014, Gate Petroleum Company sent a letter of intent via Mr. George W. Dekle, Jr. to City Manager Russ Blackburn for the purchase of approximately 0.7 acres of property located at 1244 NW 30th Avenue, tax parcel 08300-002-000, the current location of Fire Station 5. The purchase price offered was $250,000. The letter of intent, along with its introductory letter from Mr. George W. Dekle, Jr., is included as backup for the Commission's reference.
There has been discussion over the last couple of years with the Gate Petroleum Company regarding interest in the Station 5 property so they could expand their operations located immediately to the west of Station 5. This is the first offer to purchase the property received by the City. The City's Real Estate Policies are attached as backup and provide guidance on the process for the disposition of City property. Staff reviewed the offer and recommend that the Commission decline the offer.

Recommendation
The City Commission authorize the City Manager to inform Gate Petroleum Company that the City declines the July 17, 2014 offer from Gate Petroleum Company to purchase the Fire Station 5 property.
