Resolution for the Regional Transit System (RTS) Program of Projects (POP) FY 2015
This item is a request to adopt a Resolution authorizing the filing of an application with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
Explanation
In order to remain eligible for federal and state funding, the Regional Transit System (RTS) is required annually to submit a Program of Projects (POP) to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and a budget application for capital and operating projects to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The budget application requires notice to the public for their comments. The POP was presented to the RTS Advisory Board on March 25, 2015, and was published in the Gainesville Guardian on April 2, 2015, and the Gainesville Sun on April 1, 2015. Citizens will also be able to comment at a public hearing during the City Commission meeting on April 16, 2015.
Fiscal Note
The costs for the Program of Projects of $4,834,785 are included in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) approved by the Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MTPO).
Recommendation
The City Commission adopt the Resolution.
