Title
Special City Commission Meeting at the Hippodrome - Reimagining Public Service (B)
The City Commission will hold a special meeting to have a focused discussion on reimagining the way Gainesville provides services to its residents.
Explanation
For the past seven years, the City Commission has held special meetings in the community to give citizens the opportunity to provide feedback on the strategic priorities of our city. Gainesville residents are invited to meet with their mayor and city commissioners to share their views and comments during the Community Forum scheduled for Monday, March 2nd at 6 p.m. at the Hippodrome Theatre, which is located at 25 SE Second Place in downtown Gainesville.
This special meeting will give Gainesville residents the opportunity to have a focused discussion on reimagining the way Gainesville provides services to its residents. Small break-out groups will focus on:
- Communicating with and accessing your city through technology;
- Improving the development review process by instituting new ideas and technological tools;
- Exploring alternative methods for accessing non-emergency services from public safety personnel; and
- Identifying resources for senior caretakers to help them maintain independence.
The forum is an opportunity to provide feedback as the City Commission prepares for the upcoming budget season and will provide elected officials with information to make strategic budgetary decisions.
Free parking is available on-street after 6pm or a block away from the Hippodrome at the Downtown Parking Garage (with validated ticket).
