GRU BUDGET AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM
In the proposed budget for the combined utilities system, the General Manager for Utilities made recommendations to revise electric, water, wastewater and natural gas fees, rates and charges as required to meet system revenue requirements for Fiscal Year 2016. This ordinance is necessary to implement the changes to the fees, rates and charges effective October 1, 2015. Additionally, changes are included in the proposed ordinance to amend provisions of Chapter 27 to reflect those corresponding changes in the code, to revise water and wastewater connection criteria, and to reimpose a 25% surcharge on water and wastewater connection outside city limits as directed by the City Commission on May 7, 2015.
CITY ATTORNEY MEMORANDUM
During the budget process in July 2015, the City Commission authorized the City Attorney to draft and the Clerk of the Commission to advertise an ordinance revising the fees, rates and charges as required to meet system revenue requirements for Fiscal Year 2016.
This ordinance requires two readings. The first reading is scheduled for September 10, 2015. The second reading is scheduled for September 17, 2015. The new and amended fees, rates, and charges shall be applied to all monthly bills which are for the first time rendered and postmarked after 12:01 AM, October 1, 2015.
