Mayor Braddy requested GPD staff give a presenation of the new unit at the Novmeber 19, 2015 City Commission meeting. During the discussion proceeding the presentation, the Commission recommended GPD staff make a presentation to the Public Safety Committee to discuss possible funding for this unit.
fiscal impact
The proposed cost of enhancing this unit with the required special equipment is estimated at $267,350.35. Funding will come out State and Federal Forfeiture funds.
Recommendation:
The Public Safety Committe hear a presentation from staff and determine how they wish to move forward.
