An ordinance of the City of Gainesville, Florida, amending Ordinance No. 001162 to delete and replace, nunc pro tunc, the incorrect legal description mistakenly attached to Ordinance No. 001162 as Exhibit "A" with the correct legal description attached to this ordinance; providing directions to the City Manager; providing directions to the Clerk of the Commission; providing a severability clause; providing a repealing clause; and providing an effective date.

explanation
The City Commission at its meeting on May 14, 2001, adopted Ordinance No. 001162, which voluntarily annexed into the corporate limits of the City of Gainesville an approximately 128-acre area of land generally located north of NW 69th Lane and Blues Creek Unit-2, west of NW 52nd Terrace, NW 50th Street and the Blues Creek Subdivisions, and east of Section 9, Township 9S, Range 19E. It was recently discovered by the City Surveyor that Ordinance No. 001162 had an incorrect legal description of the annexed area mistakenly attached as an exhibit. This ordinance amends Ordinance No. 001162 to provide the correct legal description of the annexed area. All other provisions of Ordinance No. 001162 remain in full force and effect.
CITY ATTORNEY MEMORANDUM
This ordinance requires two hearings and will become effective immediately upon adoption. However, the corrective legal description is being made effective as of May 14, 2001, nunc pro tunc.
