Strategic Plan Re-design Update (B)

Explanation
As a result of the Blue Ribbon Report’s recommendation in December 2015 to implement “Change 3: Our ‘Get It Done’ Plan,” staff began collaboratively working to re-design the strategic plan and budget processes to be more user friendly, effective, and aligned.
Since December, strategic planning and budget staff have hosted several workshops with the City Commission, general government executive leadership, department directors and managers to identify challenges with our current processes and opportunities to begin designing a more effective strategic plan and budget. In order to keep our users at the center of this re-design effort, we have individually interviewed each Commissioner and numerous staff. Additionally, staff has received feedback from over 100 citizens by attending community events and conducting an online survey.
The purpose of this item is to provide an update on the ongoing re-design of the Gainesville strategic plan.
