Explanation
GRU regularly conducts analysis to determine the most economical generation to meet system needs. Economic dispatch is defined as the operation of generation facilities to produce energy at the lowest cost to reliably serve consumers, recognizing any operational limits of generation and transmission facilities and regulatory requirements.
There are many variables that are factored into the process. The goal is to discuss the mechanics of economical generation planning and how different variables are factored into the process.
