Fire Rescue Services Update (B)

This is a request for the General Policy Committee to hear an update on Fire Rescue Services Transition.

Explanation

The Fire Services Assistance Agreement between the City of Gainesville and Alachua County is under a two-year suspension for compensation as part of an agreement for the transition of fire rescue services in the southwest portion of the city limits.  The scheduled date to resume the compensatory portion of the agreement is October 1, 2017; therefore, it is recommended that the General Policy Committee hear an update from Fire Chief Jeff Lane regarding the transition of services.
