This is a request for the City Commission to hear a presentation from Peebles and Smith, Inc., State Lobbyist summarizing the 2017 State Legislative Session.

Explanation

The City of Gainesville’s state lobbying firm Peebles and Smith will provide an update and status report regarding the City of Gainesville’s Legislative Priorities; including a key points related to the state budget and appropriations bills.  Specifically, this presentation will cover the passage of bills that impact municipalities, the local bill relating to Gainesville Regional Utility, funding initiatives, and any new potential opportunities created during the 2017 Session.
