City Auditor’s Report of the GPD Use of Force (B)

Explanation

An Audit of the Gainesville Police Department’s Use of Force was included on the 2016 Audit Plan. It was included due to the heightened sense of awareness regarding national incidents of other police departments’ use of force and the public reaction after some of these events. The audit focused on criteria used, training obtained, and annual reporting of use of force incidents.

Recommendation:

The City Auditor recommends that the City Commission accept the City Auditor's report and the City Manager's response.
