Explanation

As a follow up to the Smart City Overview provided to the General Policy Committee on August 10, 2017, staff will provide an update on smart city work in progress followed by a deeper look into one of the policy areas raised during the Overview. Staff will walk through two topics: data privacy and data ownership. During this discussion staff will facilitate the discussion and seek high level guidance and policy direction on questions raised by new smart city applications and data. There is no specific recommendation from staff, but rather a request for guidance.
