This is a request for the General Policy Committee to review various investment strategies for the City.

Explanation

A local citizens group, Divest Gainesville, has requested that the City Commission consider enacting socially responsible investing and purchasing policies. These policies target support of fossil fuel pipelines, private prisons, or actions that violate indigenous sovereignty. City staff will be presenting the potential impacts to the General Policy Committee for consideration.

The General Policy Committee hear a presentation from city staff and discuss options for moving forward.
