Explanation of the Heat Rate Calculations for Deerhaven Renewal and Deerhaven II (B)
Explanation
At the UAB’s March 27, 2018, workshop, staff gave a presentation on GRU’s cost to operate Deerhaven Renewable (DHR) from the purchase date of November 7, 2017 through February 7, 2018, compared to what GRU would have paid during the same period under the former power purchase agreement.
Subsequent to the presentation, the UAB chair asked staff to give a brief presentation that would give the Board and the public a greater understanding of what a heat rate is and how it is calculated. Additionally, the chair requested a more in-depth presentation on how staff calculated the heat rates for DHR and Deerhaven II that they presented to the Board at the March 27th workshop.
