Low Income Customers and Housing (NB)
Explanation
Following the City Commission Cost of Service Study Workshop on February 27, 2018, the UAB has had several conversations about issues surrounding the difficulties faced by many low income customers in paying their utility bills. During those discussions, the Board identified substandard housing stock as one factor in some low income customers having higher bills. The Board has added this topic to their list of priorities for discussion and study.
Recommendation:
Discuss issues surrounding low income customers and housing.
