This item is a request for the City Commission to authorize the bid award to O’Steen Brothers, Inc. for the Norton Trail Construction (NW 39^th Ave to NW 45^th Ave) Project.

Explanation

On March 7, 2018 the Purchasing Division solicited bids for the Norton Trail Construction (NW 39th Ave to NW 45th Ave) Project.  A non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held on February 19, 2018 at 3:30 PM at City Hall.  All bids were due at 3:00 p.m. on March 7, 2018.  A total of seven (7) bids were received.

The Public Works Department recommends awarding this contract to O’Steen Brothers, Inc. in the amount of $354,728.25.

Fiscal Note
The construction of this project is funded by the Florida Department of Transportation through the Local Agency Program.

Recommendation

The City Commission:  1) award the bid to O’Steen Brothers, Inc. for the construction of the Norton Trail Construction (NW 39th Ave to NW 45th Ave) Project; and 2) authorize the City Manager or designee to execute all contract documents and other necessary documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney as to form and legality.
