Next Steps for the Gainesville CRA (B)

Explanation

Every five years or so, the Gainesville CRA takes time to reassess and recalibrate in some form of a strategic planning process. For the better part of 2017-2018, the CRA embarked on a planning process of this sort; a community conversation around the success or “vitality” of the four Gainesville CRA Districts.

At today’s meeting CRA will revisit the Vitality Report, the approved 5-year Roadmap and FY19-20 Budget obligations as a starting point for conversation regarding what will be next for the CRA.  Once the City and CRA determine the types of work the CRA wants to proceed with, Staff will be able to present the types of governmental structure that can be used to accomplish that work.

Recommendation

CRA Executive Director to the City Commission: Hear presentation and provide feedback.
