Heartwood Update (NB)
Explanation
At the November 19, 2018 CRA Board meeting, CRA Staff presented additional information regarding GRUCom Internet Service for Heartwood as requested by the Board. With a 4-3 vote, the Board voted to have GRUCom’s internet service provided in Heartwood. The contract term will last 84 months and cost $62.48 per month, per home. This cost will be included in the Home Owners Association monthly dues. The upfront combined cost for the conduit and fiber totaling $52,728.15 will be paid by the CRA.
In an effort to meet affordable housing goals, CRA Staff is having two of the models modified to be 2,000 square feet or less. Once those designs have been received and reviewed, CRA Staff will have these models appraised. Housing and Community Development needs these appraisals to provide the CRA Board with a thorough and practical approach to having affordable housing in the Heartwood neighborhood. The CRA Board requested Housing and Community Development and CRA Staff update the CRA Board on Monday December 17, 2018. CRA Staff will present the latest information available at the meeting.
CRA Staff has drafted a Realtor Solicitation to list and sell 11 of the 34 lots and continues to negotiate contract terms with Modera Home Builders; the two additional avenues for purchasing lots/homes at Heartwood. Once the affordable housing piece is solidified all three avenues will be advanced. The site construction is on schedule to be completed by April 2019 with construction of the single family residential housing units following soon after.
