Upon second reading on June 20, 2019, the City Commission passed Ordinance No. 180901, setting the date of the 2020 regular election and run-off election, if necessary; setting the dates of the candidate qualifying period; and setting the early voting dates for the 2020 regular election and run-off election, if necessary. Upon second reading on February 20, 2020, the City Commission passed Ordinance No. 190885 amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 180901 to add Friday, March 6, 2020 to the early voting period for the regular election that is to be held in conjunction with the statewide election, thus setting the early voting period for the 2020 regular election to occur from Friday, March 6, 2020 to and including Saturday, March 14, 2020.
Per Ordinance Nos. 180901 and 190885, early voting for the 2020 runoff election, if necessary, was to occur from Saturday, April 18, 2020 to and including Saturday, April 25, 2020. During their discussion, the City Commission requested that Friday also be added to the dates for early voting for the 2020 runoff election. This Ordinance amends Section 1 of Ordinance No. 190885 to add Friday, April 17, 2020 to the early voting period for the 2020 runoff election, if necessary. Upon adoption of this ordinance, the early voting period for the City's 2020 runoff election, if necessary, shall be from Friday, April 17, 2020 to and including Saturday, April 25, 2020.
