Explanation
Since Ordinance No. 181001, adopted by the City Commission on September 5, 2019, the CRA transitioned from a Community Redevelopment Agency overseeing projects in four redevelopment areas to become one consolidated Community Reinvestment Area. As required by the ordinance in Section 2-410, the City Commission adopted a reinvestment plan to guide community redevelopment within the new Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area (GCRA), a City Department.
The last time the GCRA Advisory Board received a full update was at a Special Meeting held February 27, 2020. Since then, the GCRA has participated in the City’s Strategic Planning process, which has set priorities for many of the GCRA Initiatives. The purpose of today’s Joint Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area Advisory Board and City Commission meeting is for Staff to present an update on what’s been accomplished since the adoption of the 10-year Consolidated Reinvestment Plan, including an update on the approved GCRA Roadmap Initiatives and current funding levels and progress.
