Explanation
The Urban Forest Management Plan includes some objectives which are in-line with the Tree Advisory Board's goal of increasing community outreach. Member Manley would like to discuss with the board her suggestions for increasing outreach by hosting an Urban Forestry Workshop presentation that focuses on educating residents on what the urban forest is, the findings of the 2016 Urban Forest Ecological Analysis, the goals of the Urban Forest Management Plan, tree
Ordinance regulations, how to obtain a tree removal permit, city tree giveaway and planting programs, and additional resources. She would also like to see that this information is conveyed to the community throughout the year in the form of group presentations throughout the Eastside, Downtown and any communities that may not be familiar with the city's ordinances, programs, and the benefits of urban trees.
