Explanation

At the April 27, 2021 joint meeting of the UAB and City Commission, the commission made a two-part motion that GRU present to the UAB and Commission a report on removing fossil gas rebates that encourage conversion from electric to fossil gas consumption.  The motion included a request for the costs of doing so.  The second part of that motion was that GRU revisit and possibly reconsider how it is marketing fossil gas as a “clean energy.” 

The commission made additional comments for consideration regarding Gainesville Regional Utilities, a list of which is included in the back-up.  The UAB chair has asked that the board discuss these comments and encourages the board members to review the recording of the April 27th joint meeting in preparation for this workshop.  The recording can be viewed at https://gainesville.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx#.
