Discussion of Event Recycling (B)
Explanation
On January 19, 2021, community builders shared information about special event recycling. Additionally, solid waste community builders have been working with the special events working group coordinated by Strategic Initiatives to ensure that recycling and waste diversion are components of special events. As part of that effort, ordinance language has been drafted to address waste handling at special events that will be discussed at this meeting.

Fiscal Note
In the event Community Builders are required to staff an event pursuant to this policy, there would be an associated cost.
Recommendation
The Zero Waste Subcommittee accept the attached staff recommendation for the solid waste portion of the Special Events Ordinance.
