Professional Services Contract to Update Fire Assessment Methodology and 3-year Annual Maintenance (B)
Explanation
Each year the City must send an updated fire special assessment to the Alachua County Property Appraiser. Historically, the City has contracted with the Government Services Group (GSG) to create the methodology and conduct the analysis. Since, GSG has unique knowledge of the steps required, timeline, and history of the fire special assessment with the Alachua County Property Appraiser's Office the City has chosen GSG to continue their services and enter into a new contract. GSG will manage the process to update the fire service assessment methodology for the next four (4) years. Specifically, GSG will review the fire special assessment methodology for the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 and annual maintenance of the fire services assessment program for Fiscal Years 2024-2025 through 2026-2027 using the enhanced methodology beginning on October 1, 2023.

Fiscal Note
No additional funding is requested. This will come out of the Department of Strategy, Planning and Innovation’s general fund operating budget.
Recommendation
City Commission authorizes the City Manager or designee to execute the proposed contract along with the City Attorney’s review for form and function.
