Explanation
On July 19, 2021, a motion was passed to direct the City Manager to work with Charters to make election days City Holidays. The purpose of this agenda item is to seek clarification on one element of the July 19, 2021 motion.
Staff seeks clarification on what constitutes an Election for this purpose (e.g. City elections, primary elections, general elections, runoff elections, special elections, etc.).
Fiscal Note
The cost impact of the most recent City Holiday was $516,603. Funding for future, additional Holidays would be included in the FY 23 budget.
Recommendation
The City Commission discuss and provide additional clarification on Elections for the purpose of City Holidays.
