Updated Real Property Policy (B)
Explanation
The City Commission adopted a revised Real Property Policy (“Policy”) on May 21, 2020 with Resolution No. 191223. After guidance from the Commission, staff is bringing forth another revision to the Policy.
This item amends the Policy so that references of “NHO’s” (nonprofit housing organizations) are replaced with “Affordable Housing Providers” to enable a more competitive and inclusive opportunity of disposing of surplus land for permanent affordable housing within the City.
The revised policy does not include any changes to the tiered (City Commission, City Manager, Department Director) approval authorization amounts for real property disposition.
